The Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program [1], a philanthropic collaborative that works in tandem with the Kigali Amendment of the Montreal Protocol by helping developing countries speed and scale efficient,climate-friendly cooling, is launching a new funding opportunity entitled the NDC Support Facility for Efficient, Climate-Friendly Cooling. The NDC Facility aims to unlock potential emissions reductions in the cooling sector by supporting developing countries to optimize the contribution that efficient, climate friendly cooling can make to their updated NDCs and by funding the implementation of these commitments.
The NDC Facility has up to US$12 million available for technical assistance (TA) to improve access to and the efficiency of cooling in developing countries. Funding will be awarded to organizations that are able to provide TA and other forms of support to eligible Article 5 countries (including Kigali Amendment Group 2 countries, such as India) that are making new cooling commitments in their strengthened NDCs. Both countries and TA providers are welcome to submit proposals. For more information, please visit: www.k-cep.org/ndc-support-facility/
