The Ozone Secretariat remains committed to continue with preparations for the Forty-second Open-ended Working Group meeting to take place from 13-17 July 2020 in Montreal, Canada as scheduled. However, the health and safety of all participants is a priority and we will be closely following the evolution of COVID-19 and the respective responses. The Secretariat is relying on the information and guidance from the relevant United Nations authorities, the Kenyan and Canadian Governments, as well as monitoring the situation at the global level. Mindful of the protection of public health, the final decision to proceed with the meeting will be based on thorough risk assessment to be conducted in line with available UN guidance and in cooperation with the relevant authorities. The Secretariat will continue reviewing the situation and take a final decision on holding the meeting at least 5 weeks prior to the meeting.
