Deep Retrofit Models: A Global Perspective

Event description

Join us to learn about existing policies and practical solutions to accelerate deep energy retrofits, key to achieving the doubling of global progress on energy efficiency. The session will feature the recently released “Deep Retrofit Models: A Global Perspective” by Energy Efficiency Hub’s Buildings Task Group offering policy examples and implementation instruments from Argentina, Brazil, China, the European Commission, Germany, Korea and Saudi Arabia.

Deep retrofit is an essential tool to reach building decarbonisation by 2050, and the recommendations in this report focus on enabling widespread deployment of deep retrofits. Such retrofits achieve significant energy savings and reduce building emissions while achieving high energy performance. Comprehensive measures may include insulation upgrades, advanced HVAC systems, and renewable energy installations. The implementation and definitions vary by country due to political, economic, climatic and historical factors. Speakers from the public sector and prominent international NGOs will exchange approaches and solutions to accelerating deep energy retrofits globally.
