Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for Sustainable and Inclusive Buildings and Cooling: Time for Bold Action

Event description

The event will include the launch of the GlobalABC/PEEB Policy Brief on how to design ambitious, implementable, fundable and inclusive NDCs for the buildings sector. The World Green Buildings Council will present its ‘Sustainable Buildings Scorecard and Action Plan for NDCs and Policies’. The development of this Scorecard will enable stakeholders to support governments in strengthening their NDCs using a top-down and bottom-up approach that builds on existing national/ local policies whilst facilitating a gap analysis between these policies against ambition in NDCs (and vice versa). IIGCC will walk us through on how to make NDCs fundable from the investors’ point of view. And Habitat for Humanity will launch its paper on Informality and Housing in NDCs.Together these four organisations and the products they are disseminating are aiming at elevating the quality of NDC related to buildings and support the sector’s transition to decarbonised and resilient buildings.
