Background

The coming months represent a critical period for the global cooling and heat agenda. The first Global Cooling Pledge Assembly will provide a key opportunity for signatories and partners to review progress, exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration across governments, cities, industry, financial institutions and technical partners to support implementation of Global Cooling Pledge commitments. The Assembly also forms part of broader efforts to advance sustainable cooling and heat resilience in the lead-up to the 2026 UN Climate Change Conference-COP31.

In parallel, international milestones including the 2026 UN Climate Change June Meeting and London Climate Action Week are helping elevate discussions on cooling, extreme heat resilience and implementation.

Against this backdrop, the Cool Coalition Coordination Call (Q1-Q2 2026) brought together members and partners to share updates, discuss priorities and identify opportunities for collaboration across the cooling ecosystem.
