The 48th meeting of the Open-ended Working Group of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol (OEWG48) will take place from 13 to 17 July 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. Under the banner “From Kigali commitments to sustainable cooling delivery,” this key milestone will mark ten years after the adoption of the Kigali Amendment. Ahead of the 38th Meeting of the Parties in Kigali, the convening will bring countries and partners together to advance refrigerant transition, energy efficiency, finance and implementation, turning Montreal Protocol commitments into affordable, low-emission cooling at scale. The UNEP Cool Coalition will host side events bringing governments and partners around practical pathways to link Kigali Amendment implementation with energy efficiency, finance, technology and sustainable cooling delivery.
